What's included in the free consultation?  Approximately a half hour of time spent at your home where I can learn about your project goals and vision, where you can learn a little more about the process I use in my work including related services fees, and any suggestions regarding the project itself, local builder recommendations, or referrals to other designers if necessary. 

Depending on the project requirements and the amount of research you have already put into the process, I can sometimes spend that half hour simply confirming your assumptions and providing some limited direction that can enable you to move forward with your contractor without the need to hire me or another designer.  For some projects, though, it may be necessary to hire a designer or a licensed architect such as myself in order to acquire the necessary permits or to produce the drawings that the contractor needs for pricing and construction.  In our brief consultation, we can review those items in order to determine what you really need for your specific project.
